Getting Involved at Baylor

Getting Involved at Baylor

Baylor University is full of opportunities for incoming and current students. Starting with New Student Programs in the summer and continuing with organizations in the fall, students are able to participate in unique opportunities to form community and further their interests and passions.

There are more ways to get involved at Baylor than what any one person could participate in during his or her Baylor experience! This means you will have to make choices about what you will be involved with outside the classroom during your time at Baylor. Ideally, you should be purposeful in selecting involvement options. One of the tricks to choosing the right involvement opportunities is to have clear expectations of yourself and of your college experience.

First in Line Student Society

The First in Line Student Society is a student organization group. Chartered in the Spring of 2017, the organization meets monthly to discuss first-generation specific issues and host social, academic, and service events for all first-generation college students.

New Student Programs

Creates shared experiences - Orientation, Baylor Line Camp, and Welcome Week - that foster belonging and excitement for new students and that inspire them to take ownership of their unique Baylor story.

Late Night

Established in 2001, Late Night is one of the most anticipated programs of the fall semester. New students have the opportunity to meet student leaders from over 300 student organizations and learn about the many opportunities for campus involvement. Students can explore activities throughout campus in four locations, featuring: live music, games, exhibitions, free food, prizes, and more.

Student Activities

The Department of Student Activities opens pathways for students to develop their leadership and become people of influence through membership in student organizations. Whether teaching others how to samba, organizing a rally for a cleaner environment, spearheading a fundraiser for cancer research, or performing in an overseas choir tour, there is an opportunity for you to connect through student organizations.

The Paul L. Foster Success Center

Be sure to get to know the wonderful staff and resources in the Paul L. Foster Success Center which strives to positively impact the success of Baylor students by addressing their social, emotional, vocational, spiritual, and academic needs. Each of the areas within the Success Center are designed to strengthen a student’s transition, persistence, and retention, thereby creating a more robust coordinated care network for undergraduate students.
