First In Line Peer Leader Program
First in Line Peer Leaders will assist first-year, first-generation college students during their transition to Baylor. Peer Leaders begin work in the spring by partnering with admissions and acting as the first point of contact for incoming freshmen. Peer leaders will also serve as leaders for the First in Line Success Academy and maintain contact throughout the fall semester. Peer Leaders will have the unique opportunity to positively impact first-year students' college experience.
Peer Leader Testimonials
"First in Line gave me the confidence that I can succeed in college, despite no one in my family having gone. It gave me a group of people to lean on and confide in when things get hard. I became a peer leader to be able to pay it forward to the program and what it meant to me. I pray first in line may continue to help other first-generation college students, because without First in Line and the people I met through the program, I wouldn’t be the person I am today."
- Cristina Martinez, Medical Humanities Senior, Class of 2019
"The Peer Leader program to me means a chance to guide others and give back what Baylor has given me. It's an opportunity to help others find a home at Baylor. It is an extraordinary program that sets students up with mentors to walk along beside them in their journey here at Baylor."
- Cade Cowart, Class of 2019
